The hall was founded in 1943 and has occupied a former bank building at the corner of Yonge Street and Front Street in Toronto since 1993, where the original Stanley Cup rests in a vault. Börje Salming became the first European-trained player in the hall in 1996, with Mats Sundin following in 2012.
